A randomized, controlled, multi-centre clinical trial of post-extraction alveolar ridge preservation

Evaluating two extraction socket treatment approaches in cases with substantial socket dehiscenses, this study utilizes histomorphogenic analysis 6 months after the procedure, followed by implant placement. Fourteen percent of implants placed with allograft and a long-term membrane required retreatment whereas no additional procedures were required with the xenogeneic bone and a bi-layer collagen membrane.
